Producing a Protection Key Update File for an Entitlement
You can generate files containing the Protection Key Update information for an Entitlement. A separate file is generated for each Sentinel protection key that is to be updated. You can select to generate V2C or V2CP files or EXE files containing V2C or V2CP data.

To produce the Protection Key Update file:
1.Select the Entitlement to update (Entitlements > Entitlements).
2. Click 
and select Produce. The Generate License dialog box opens.
3. Select the type of file to contain the Protection Key Update details for delivery to end users:
>Select V2C or V2CP to produce files that can be used with the RUS utility (Sentinel Remote Update System). (Whether V2C or V2CP is displayed depends on the file format specified by the administrator in the license configuration settings.)
>Select EXE to produce executable files containing V2C or V2CP data.
4.Select Clear key before applying updates to cancel all existing Products and Features in a key before the update is applied. This is useful, for example, if Features or Products have been discontinued.
NOTE
>This option does not clear data from the key memory.
>If your update contains a Modification Product of an existing Product in the key, the Product will not be canceled and will be modified.
5.Click Generate. The Activation Details for the keys are displayed in the lower pane.
6.Click the link in the Download column.
NOTE If there are more than 500 rows, the result is displayed across multiple pages (with a 500-per-page limit). Each page contains a Download All V2C Files link. On clicking this, only the V2C files for that page are downloaded. To download all V2C or V2CP files, click the links in all of the pages.
7.Save the V2C or V2CP files. By default, the name of each file includes the key ID for the Sentinel protection key that is to be updated. The status of the Entitlement changes to Completed in the Entitlements page.
